Hello there everyone,
I've made a post before with regards finding my tinnitus not on my synthesizer. Have now had the ringing for over a month and it's still doing its usual thing so at a point where I guess I need to start accepting it, rather than fighting against it (which makes me more aware of it).
Have cut out coffee, tea, drinking down to one glass of red a night (find it helps me sleep), as much sugar and salt as humanly possible, and starting to try meditation and exercise. So because of my tinnitus I guess I'm living a healthier and more balanced life. Crazy thinking about tinnitus pros hey?
Anyway, my biggest help has been this strangely. I stumbled upon a sound generator called Tinnitus Tamer. Has anyone else heard of or tried it? I usually close the page as soon as I see people are trying to make money out of tinnitus "cures". There are no scientific cures as of yet as far as I'm concerned.
I had a pair of closed headphones and tried it out - after a 10 minute session (called Session 1), I couldn't hear the ringing for minutes afterwards, and when it did come back it hardly bothered me. Have been using it for a week now and it has quite drastically changed how I deal with my T. It's still there when I block my ears, but seems more masked by other worldly sounds. *N.B* However, I am cautious to directly link this program to my perceived improvement. I know that if my T improved while I was, say eating grass from my lawn, it would be difficult not to link the improvement with the random current behavior etc.
Is this just me? Could others who've recently developed the ringing give it a go and let me know? Here's a link to the download, and the first 14 days are free to use - the only reason I tried it.

Hi Daniel,
First of all, a belated welcome to the forum.
Quite a few sound generators and sound/music therapy programs that have already been discussed in this forum (see for instance this thread, this thread or this thread).
There are some elaborate scientific (neurological) explanations issued with some of these, but it has to be said that like with most (if not all) tinnitus therapies it is all a bit of hit or miss. For those who experience some benefits it might only be a relaxation effect due to the sounds or the result of something called residual inhibition.
In any case, while this is unlikely to fully cure the problem, it can of course be invaluable (especially in the early phase) to have something that allows one to control the tinnitus at least to some degree.

I am into month 2 of my T. I have it just in my Right ear and it came on suddenly with no incident prior, it just started. I did down load an App from Apple iTunes for $1.99 It has 5 different sounds (waves Crickets and so on) and it does mask the noise and I would say makes it less apparent when you first stop using it for a brief period of time. There really is an App for everything.
I am trying some homeopathic pellets that I posted about earlier. I have posted a link previously that shows where I read about it. I cannot say for sure yet that it is working but I have made quite a bit of progress in the last 4 days. I can't endorse it yet but when I feel confident in the results I will let people on the form know.
