Lipoflavinoids - does this work?

My ENT suggested trying this to help alleviate the ringing in the ears.  Both my ears have ringing.. but about a week ago I noticed my right ear louder and the sounds has changed from a high pitch sound to a roaring sound.  Not sure how the sound changes?

Re: Lipoflavinoids - does this work?

Hi Lina,

I would stop taking the Lipoflavinoids if they aggravate the condition. Lipoflavinoids are just a vitamin B preparation, so they will be affecting the nervous system in one way or another. For some people that effect may be positive but for others it may be the opposite, depending on the state of your nervous system. A sound change can in the process happen as well. You have to remember that what you are hearing is closely related to the chemistry of your nervous system, and that chemistry can change by whatever your are eating or drinking (as well as through psychological reasons like stress)

Have you ever tried whether taking a few painkillers (Aspirin or Paracetamol (Tylenol in the US)) for a couple of days have some effect? These have changed both the volume and the tone of my tinnitus to the better a few months into the condition.

How did your flight go recently by the way? Any problems?

Re: Lipoflavinoids - does this work?

Thank you Thomas for your response.  My flight was great.  I didn't experience any problems with flying.  I was really worried how my ears were going to react and fortunately there were no issues.

I will try taking the tylenol for a couple of days and see what that does.

Thanks for the advice
