In the book, Land of Painted Caves, by Jean M. Auel, she mentions that ground ivy was good for humming noises in the ear. Since Ms. Auel is rather exacting in her descriptions, I would like to know if this 'remedy' is indeed helpful. If so, how is ground ivy 'administered'?

Hi Burt,
Welcome to the forum.
The reference you mentioned is little more than anecdotal (at least I haven't heard anybody mentioning this in connection with tinnitus before).
Nonetheless, you can find more information under

It seems that usually you either press the fresh leaves for the juice or your prepare a tea infusion from the dried leaves. The second link also mentions putting it into the ear in case of tinnitus, but I can't see how this should work (unless the tinnitus is due to an outer ear infection).
