Tinnitus & Pain

Hi Again everyone.

I posted earlier about how tinnitus started with me. Now I would like to know if anyone out there has pain associated with there tinnitus. Things like ear, head, or sinus pain a long with tinnitus. Myself I have back, head &/or sinus pain with my tinnitus.

When I wake up in the morning my ears are ringing & head feels heavy like having a hangover all the time. When I stand up the tinnitus dies down but the heavy feeling in my head stays with me. I've tried taking pain killers but they never relieve any of the head pain. Now the pain is a dull pain and feels like its just above my ears. The ringing or buzzing sounds ( I can't determine which it is ) doesn't seem loud at all but it does seem to be a long side the pain I feel. The more the pain the more I notice the tinnitus.

This is why I think tinnitus has more to do with pain then anything else. I will describe pain as stress, depression, anxiety, and physical body problems like being hurt.

Do any of you have pain with your tinnitus?

Thanks

Also, I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas and didn't let tinnitus ruin it.

Re: Tinnitus & Pain

Hi Tony,

Many people have some sort of pains associated with their tinnitus, be it with in the ears or in their head. This is not further surprising, as both tinnitus and pain are nervous conditions, so may well be interlinked. I wouldn't interpret too much into it. It is, like noise sensitivity, in most cases only a temporary phenomenon and likely do disappear again in a couple of months or so (once your nervous system has adjusted itself to the situation).
